While I was at Home Depot a couple of weeks ago I met Tom, the owner of Precision Door Service. I was closing on my townhouse in a couple of weeks and we talked about garage door openers. Tom was very friendly and more than happy to take the time to speak with me and answer all my questions. I talked to the sellers about the garage door opener at closing. They said it was the original, which means over 15 years old. The garage door opener was extremely noisy and the chain drive was over tight. With the current condition of the existing garage door opener and wanting a MyQ compatible garage door opener, I called PDS. To my surprise, I was about to get a next day appointment. The technician, Iam, arrived right on time. Ian got right to work and checked everything out. In addition to the new opener, Ian found some other items that needed to be addressed and presented me with 3 different quote. Each quote listed (1) Everything, (2) Opener and items that needed to be replaced now for safe and proper operation and some other items that would become a problem soon, (3) Opener and just the items that needed to be replaced right now. He didn't just say these items needed to be replaced, he actually showed me each issue and explained it in great detail. I opted for the first quote as I wanted everything to be in the best condition possible.The new opener was installed and all the issues taken care of in a short period of time. Ian was a pleasure to work with and when he left everything was in perfect condition. The garage door opener and garage door are now much quieter. I want to mention that the openers PDS installs are not the same models you can buy in the big box stores, they are a higher quality. I would highly recommend Precision Door Service to anyone who needs a new garage door opener, new garage door or service of an existing opener or door.

I consider it a privilege to be able to share some thoughts about this very, very fine gentleman - Ian - what and how he accomplished the required repair, which consisted of replacing the backup, battery-operated garage door opener device on the side of the garage door frame. We received an email with his profile while he was enroute. From a security standpoint, this is a very wise - and timely - procedure, so that the customer knows who is coming. He called while enroute to predict how long it would take, and he hit it on the head!!!! He knew exactly what to do, how to do it, and how to share information for future reference that was very valuable. He was reaching out to provide good - and complete - information to us as customers. He really knows his business, and is excited to share it with anyone interested, or who should be interested!! Consider yourselves fortunate to have this ambassador of professional customer service on your team. I have been in sales and marketing for 60 years, and this is one of the most well-versed and competent service providers I have met. All my neighbors are going to know about him, too :)! Also...the lady to whom I spoke on Saturday about your ad on Google was also excellent. And...we had some fun in the process! To sum up: From initial inquiry to completed repair, this was a 5-star experience across the board.

The rep was very competent and courteous. I would recommend less aftershave. I have an extreme reaction to perfumes, aftershaves, etc. my throat gets irate do and I start to cough. Not his problem, mine but nonetheless just thought I would mention it. Also, last fall Tom came to fix the cables on my door, told me my door was in bad shape and said a comparable door would cost about $850. Imagine my surprise to order a new one today for $1300+. It is what it is. I'm sure my new door will be fabulous. Just sayin.

First of all I received service the same day as promised. The service representative introduced himself via. cell phone and picture as Rudy Vallejos , was right on time as promised. Very pleasant , and explained in detail the work to done, gave me 3 different options. He did the work to my satisfaction , I am pleased with the job and expertise installation.

Quick response and the tech, Devon was great. But the price for the 25 minute repair was ridiculously high. $160 for two 2 cables and 2 brackets - at Home Depot $20 $50 labor for lube & tune - sprayed door hinges that took 30 seconds $200 labor to reset door and rewind cables - took 25 minutes including setup & cleanup So as a retiree I just paid the tech over $500 per hour to fix my door and that's just not right. I know there's some experience involved here but still? What ever happened to simple, fair time & material pricing? Sorry but can't justify calling you again.

Jon replaced my broken garage door springs yesterday. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He explained how to tell if parts were wearing out and upkeep on the door. He did not pressure me into anything I did not want done. He did a great job replacing the springs, bearings on the bar and spraying the hinges. Goes up much quieter now. He also made sure everything including my opener were working they way they should. Thanks for a great experience Jon.

Nothing but good things to say about the service and attention to detail provided by Devon from Precision Door MN. Arrived promptly, diagnosed the problem quickly and gave us a quote that given the circumstances seemed more than reasonable to me. I’ve read other reviews about the cost of parts that can be found online vs what the various garage door companies charge, but there is no way I could have bought those parts myself and done what Devon did to resolve the issue we had and in the time he did. I’m totally confident the charge for parts and expertise that Precision Door brought to the table were well worth the call. I have a much better working door system than anything I could have done myself.

I called early this morning to request service as our garage door failed to go up last night. I was so very impressed - quick answer - cheerful voice not a long message. Top notch customer service. They gave me options of when a repairman would be able to come to our home. I received an text and an email when he was on the way. The communication included a picture and a bio of the service person so I knew who was coming. He was professional and knew what to do. He gave us an estimate.
