Good service, but VERY EXPENSIVE! I scheduled the service online to replace a broken spring on my 8yo dual garage door. Got an appointment right away for Mon (8a-10a). They confirmed the appointment via txt msg. On the day of the arrival, they sent a name & photo of the tech that was on his way to fix the garage door. Really nice and professional guy, Alex. He inspected the garage door, and gave me an estimate of $1245 to basically replace all removable parts (bearings, cables, springs, etc.) I decided not to move forward with it, and I was ready to pay mandatory $85 for his visit, but he revised the estimate to just replace the two springs along with center and end bearings for $869, which I thought was still high based on market research. I needed to get the door fixed due to upcoming travel, so I agreed to it. It took Alex 30 mins to complete the work. They accept checks and credit cards, but there is an additional 3% charge for credit cards! To give you an idea of total costs: I paid 2 x $345 for two springs: PDS 250x39 - 1-3/4" ID LHW SP Green Powder Coated High Cycle Torsion Spring; $37 for Center Bearing; and 2 x $71 for two End Bearing Plate 12 ga. Also, to replace 12 roller wheels on my single garage door (to reduce noise) the estimate was $245, but I didn't go for it. I would highly recommend getting a couple of quotes over the phone before having them come over, so you are not on the hook for $85 mandatory charge.

This past Tuesday I spoke with a neighbor who told me that he had Precision Door Minnesota to his home to quiet a noisy garage door. He was most impressed with the service which prompted me to call Precision to address what we consider an irritatingly noisy garage door. James Magaard showed up this morning. James (Jim, Jamey?). He was impressively personable and professional. He conducted a thorough inspection of our garage door, then went over it with me, pointing out components that were worn to the point that replacement was advisable, others that were slightly worn, but had good life left, and others that could be left as is for now. He provided two estimates for two different repair scenarios, along with pros and cons of each. Once I made a selection, he took approximately 45 minutes to undertake and complete the repairs, then went over with me what had been done, and made suggestions for ongoing home self-maintenance. The garage door is now quiet. I could hardly be more pleased and impressed with the Precision operation and with Jack as the firm's field representative.

On Sunday April 7, 2024, the torsion spring for our main garage door had broken and I needed to get the garage door fixed so my wife could get to work on Monday. I checked for any services available to make the repair. I found Precsion Door had several 5-star ratings and I decided to call them, figuring that it would not be until Monday the phone would be answered. To my surprise, someone answered, and I explained my situation. The receptionist stated that they would have someone come out on a Sunday. I then asked if this was considered an emergency call, I was told no it was a regular workday for them. Shortly after I booked the repair with Precsion Door, I received an email message stating that Gregg Traylor would arrive between 2:00 and 4:00 pm. I received a phone call from Gregg stating that he was done early with his current appointment early and was on his way to our residence. Gregg arrived at 1:00 pm, he promptly looked over what all was wrong with the garage door other than the torsion spring. He pointed out several items that should be serviced but told me I could do only the torsion spring replacement today. I chose only to replace the torsion spring. Once the work was completed, Gregg explained to me when the garage door was originally installed the torsion spring installed was rated for 300 pounds and the door actually should have had a torsion spring for 350 pounds. He installed the correct spring. Throughout the entire process, Gregg was extremely professional and friendly taking all the time to explain what he had observed that needed to be serviced at some point. He also emailed pictures of things he observed so I can decide when to do these things. Precsion Door’s prices were not out of line, and I would consider using them again for my garage door services!

This is the second time I've needed these guys this year because my garage door decided to break in stages. I called the night the spring broke and the cables came off, and I had an appointment for the next morning, regardless of the 8 inch snowstorm. Alex reviewed the damage, gave me an estimate, replaced the spring, some brackets (optional, but starting to rust and get nasty so I said yes) and the cables. The whole thing took about an hour. Alex was very nice, thorough, efficient. The operation is quieter as well. Very happy with Precision Garage Door.

Technician Adam came out and replaced the springs and some other parts on the garage door. We requested a 8:00 appointment on a Sunday morning online and he was right on time. He accessed the work, gave us a quote and was all done in just over an hour. I would highly recommend Adam and Precision Door for anybody who’s looking for a great job!
