Precision Garage Door's video ad creates a certain set of expectations: technicians with superior diagnostic capability, trucks fully stocked with high quality parts, problems resolved on the spot. That was exactly my experience with my tech, Alex. I will also add that he was on time, completed the job in the time he had estimated, in addition to making the repairs, he checked, adjusted and lubed my door, and he picked up after himself, leaving my garage as clean as if he was never there. My only complaint, and this is not on Alex, is that their bill included a $14 fuel surcharge--with gas prices below $3/gallon and still falling, it is time for fuel surcharges to go away.

The lady who took my call and scheduled the appointment was not even close to the bid when the technician arrived. I even said so worst case it would cost this amount and she said yes. It was almost three times the cost. Turns out she quoted me one spring and the cheapest spring. I asked if they would need to replace both she said no. My technician said he would only do both. Then I was stuck paying $85 service call for them to do nothing or three times the initial quoted cost. I would shop around and choose a company that does not lie to you to get the technician out there. Or plan on whatever they quote you it will be triple the cost.

We realize the importance of over-the-phone price estimation, however it is difficult to diagnose or know the safety and size requirements of each garage door issue before arriving on-site. We try to generalize, which does not always work out and in this case it seems the latter. Our team takes these comments seriously and we have heard you. Technician Allen was great. I do have issues with pricing. You charge a $75 trip charge that is deducted from service if performed. I was invoiced $413 for 25 minutes of work! Labor- $250 (25 minutes) Fuel surcharge- $8 Torsion cable- $95 ($9 Amazon) Bottom Brackets- $85 ($15 Amazon) It's one thing to charge ridiculous mark-up on parts but to absolutely take advantage of customer with labor charges is bad business.

My husband has always fixed our garage door the springs have come off 3 times the last 10 years and it happened again this am thank god it didn’t do damage to our truck.
